The front engine cover leak was covered under warranty. The Ford dealer had a heck of a time. They had to call in their diesel mechanic. Then remove the two plastic clips that hold the lower bumper plastic flap over the crank pulley. From there you will see the timing chain cover in the upper left corner and can access the 3 bolts to remove it.If that was leaking you would see water dribbling down the front of the timing chain cover. I would replace the valve cover and oil pan gaskets while it's apart, just to make sure all leaks are stopped. The gaskets aren't that expensive, and the valve covers have to come off to remove the timing covers. Everyone seems to know about the problem, but no concrete solutions. Ive tried about 10 different things , nothing works. This is the engine with the disposable composite cover. They leak right where the cover, block, and oil pan meet.Yes the timing cover gasket can leak coolant. The coolant passes the waterpump and is pump into the engine block thru the timing cover. to see the actual leak jack up passenger side of car support with jack stand take off wheel and the splash guard now you can see the crank shaft pulley look up at waterpump on both side it goes back to engine block with a mirror you can see it leak.They mentioned the front timing cover needs to be resealed and want $1,300 for the job. The service advisor said 7 hours for labor and required removal of water pump. Not sure which one it is. I showed my brother and says it's a seep, and not bad enough to worry about at the moment. You guys know this car better than him ...
